Generally, solid sodium chloride and concentrated sulfuric acid react, without heating or slightly heating, respectively, to generate sodium bisulfate and hydrogen chloride.

NaCl+H2SO4==NaHSO4+HCl↑

Then at 500℃ to 600℃, the reaction continues to form hydrogen chloride and sodium sulfate.

NaHSO4+NaCl==Na2SO4+HCl↑

The total chemical equation can be expressed as follows:

2NaCl+H2SO4==Na2SO4+2HCl↑ (Note: HCl is added under heating and water shortage environment)
