Acetylene in industrial gases usually has a strong garlic smell and, although colorless, is extremely flammable. Industrial gas is in a cylinder filled with porous substances such as asbestos, so that the porous substance absorbs acetone and presses the industrial gas acetylene into it for storage and transportation. 

Here are the following points on how to safely use acetylene in industrial gases:

1. Industrial gas acetylyne bottle should be installed with special tempering prevention device, pressure reducer, for the working place is not fixed, moving more, should be installed in a special car.

2.  It is strictly forbidden to knock, collision and apply strong vibration, so as not to sink the porous filler in the bottle and form a cavity, affecting the storage of industrial gas acetylene.

3.  Industrial gas acetylene bottle should be placed upright, it is strictly prohibited to use lying. Because the use of lying down will make the acetone in the bottle with acetylene outflow, and even through the pressure reducer and into the rafter leather pipe, this is very dangerous.

4. Open the acetylene cylinder with a special plate hand. When opening the acetylene bottle of industrial gas, the operator should stand behind the side of the valve port, and the action should be gentle. Do not exhaust the gas in the bottle. A residual pressure of 0.1 to 0.2Mpa should be left in winter and 0.3Mpa in summer.

5 The use of industrial gas pressure shall not exceed 0.15Mpa, gas transmission speed shall not exceed 1.5~2 cubic meters (m3)/hour. A bottle.

6. Industrial gas acetylyne bottle body temperature should not exceed 40℃, summer to prevent exposure. Because the temperature in the bottle is too high, the solubility of acetone to the industrial gas acetylene will be reduced, and the pressure of acetylene in the bottle will increase sharply.

7. Industrial gas acetylene bottle shall not be near the heat source and electrical equipment. The distance from the open fire is generally not less than 10m (the distance between two points and the vertical ground should be calculated when working at altitude).

8. The bottle valve is frozen in winter. It is strictly forbidden to bake with fire. Industrial gas acetylne can be thawed by hot water below 40℃ if necessary.

9. The connection between acetylene decompressor and bottle valve must be reliable. Do not use it under the condition of air leakage. Otherwise, it will form a mixture of industrial gas acetylene and air, which will explode immediately if it touches an open flame.

10. Industrial gas is strictly prohibited from being placed in places with poor ventilation and radiation, and shall not be placed on insulating materials such as rubber. When using the industrial gas acetylene bottle and oxygen bottle should be more than 10m away.

11. If the industrial gas cylinder is found to be defective, the operator shall not repair it without authorization, and shall notify the safety supervisor to send it back to the gas factory for treatment.

Industrial gas is dangerous in transportation and storage, so in any case, it must be carried out in strict accordance with the requirements.
