Refined hydrogen chloride gas is widely used due to the low amount of impurities, especially organic matter. Here is a brief introduction to its use.


● Production of hydrochloric acid


Refined HCL gas (packed or membrane absorption columns) can be absorbed by water to produce industrial sulfuric acid, which is the method adopted by most companies. These hydrochloric acids can be used for metal cleaning, oil well acidification, hydrometallurgy (such as clay treatment, kaolin or carboniferous shale alumina, titanium dioxide instead of sulfuric acid for ilmenite processing, precious metal chloride hydrometallurgy, etc.), substitution of sulfuric acid for reaction with sodium chlorate to produce chlorine dioxide, acidification of phosphate to produce fertilizer grade phosphate and inorganic matter. In addition, the produced hydrochloric acid can be used in a wider range of applications by heating, analyzing, condensing, filtering and adsorption to obtain high-yield, high-purity hydrogen chloride.


● Production of high purity HCL gas


The by-product of refined hydrogen chloride gas can produce high purity HCL gas through absorption, analysis, condensation, filtration and adsorption processes.


● Production of PVC


High purity HCL gas can react with ethylene to produce vinyl chloride, or it can react with nitrogen oxide, gas (or oxygen) to catalyze oxychlorination to produce chlorinated hydrocarbons. The most important oxychlorination reaction in industry is the production of dichloroethane. Dichloroethane is cracked to produce vinyl chloride, and the by-product HCL gas can be recycled.


●NH4Cl production


Ammonia and HCL can be directly generated to produce NH4CL, or phosphorus chloride can be produced as an intermediate of 4-hydroxymethyl phosphorus chloride.


● Production of metal chloride


Silicon tetrachloride can be made by the reaction of silicon carbon and hydrogen chloride at 700 ° C in the presence of phosgene and NiCl2. It can also be made by the corresponding metal nitride and hydrogen chloride reaction, Nb, Ta, Ti, Zr, Hf, Cr, W and other metal chlorides.


● Chlorinated hydrocarbon production


Hydrogen chloride, olefin and alkane compounds can be added to the reaction to produce chlorocarbons. For example, in 355. ~ At 40 ° C, hydrogen chloride and ethane react in liquid phase to form chloroethane. Industrially produced 1, 1-dichloroethane and 1, 1, 1-trichloroethane are made from chloroethane and hydrogen chloride.


● Organic matter generation


Hydrogen chloride can be directly used as a chlorinating agent to generate organic matter. For example, various alkyl chlorides can be chlorinated with hydrogen chloride to the corresponding alcohol.


● Other applications


HCl-H2 mixture can be used for heavy oil desulfurization; High temperature dissociation of HCL has been used in chemical plasma reactions, through which various C1, carbon and hydrogen chloride can produce C2 chlorocarbons and chlorocarbons.
