The safety inspection before cylinder use is the core of cylinder use

1. Whether there is corrosion, deformation, damage, crack on the surface

2. Is the surface coloring and gem label clearly visible?

3. Does the gas meet the operational requirements?

4. Whether the accessories are complete, whether leakage, wear and slack joints

5. Is the regular inspection period exceeded?

6. Are the oxygen tank and bottle valves sticky with grease?

7. Use gas cylinders (full, in use, empty)

Today details the safe use of oxygen cylinder/ tank and acetylene cylinder

Oxygen Cylinder/Tank:

1. The oxygen in the oxygen tank can not be used up, and the residual pressure of 0.1Mpa must be left to prevent the explosion caused by acetylene reflux.

2. Do not use greasy hands and tools to operate the gas cylinder, so as not to cause explosion.

3. Oxygen tanks should not collide strongly. It is strictly prohibited to use throwing, falling and other methods that are easy to cause collisions for loading, unloading or transportation, and it is strictly prohibited to use cranes for lifting.

4. People should stand to the side when opening the bottle valve and decompressor; The starting speed should be slow to avoid electrostatic sparks and combustion due to excessive temperature of organic material parts or too fast airflow.

5. When the gas cylinder decompress and pipeline freeze in winter, it is strictly forbidden to use fire to baking or hitting the gas cylinder with iron tools, not to mention tightening the adjusting screw of the decompress, so as not to suddenly break through a large amount of oxygen and cause accidents.

6. Do not use oxygen tanks without a depressor.

Acetylene Cylinder:

1. When using acetylene cylinders, special pressure reducer and tempering protection device must be installed. Check whether it is easy to use before working, otherwise it is prohibited. When opened, the operator should stand behind the side of the valve and move it gently.

2. The gas cylinder shall not be near the pyrogen and electrical equipment. In summer, shading measures should be taken to avoid exposure to sunlight, and the distance from open fire should be more than 10 meters (parallel to the vertical road surface when working at height).

3. When the bottle valve is frozen, it is strictly forbidden to bake with fire. It can be thawed with warm water below 10℃.

4. When the workplace moves frequently, it should be installed on a special vehicle to avoid putting acetylene bottles and oxygen tanks together.

5. Copper, silver, mercury and other products shall not come into contact with acetylene, and the copper alloy appliance in contact with acetylene must contain more than 70% copper.

6. Do not use gas in the bottle, and keep no less than 0.05Mpa residual pressure.

7. When transporting acetylene bottles by car and trolley, they should be gently unloaded. Throwing, sliding, scrolling, and touching are prohibited. When lifting and handling, special fixtures and rain-proof transport vehicles should be selected. The use of cranes and hand hoist is strictly prohibited.

Gas cylinder placement

1. Oxygen tank and acetylene bottle shall not be near pyrogen, electrical equipment, grease and other flammable items.

2. When using acetylene bottle, pay attention to fixing and avoid dumping. Do not use while lying down. For lying acetylene bottles, direct use is not allowed. Before use, it must rest for 15 minutes immediately before connecting the decompressor.

3. During the use, transportation and storage of acetylene cylinders, the ambient temperature shall not exceed 40℃.

4. When placing acetylene bottle, it should be kept upright and take anti-dumping measures. It should not be placed on insulating materials such as rubber.

5. The distance between the cylinder and the open flame is generally not less than 10 meters. The distance between oxygen tanks and acetylene bottles is greater than 5 meters.

6. Oxygen tank and acetylene bottle with 50mm yellow line should be fixed and marked.
