Due to the potential dangers of gas products, such as acetylene flammable and explosive, oxygen will catch fire when it meets grease, if inhaled more than 90% concentration of nitrous oxide and oxygen mixed gas can cause deep anesthesia, long-term inhalation of high concentration of nitrous oxide gas, there is a risk of suffocation. Inert gas causes asphyxiation, the cylinder collapses and the bottle head (valve) is broken, causing the bottle to fly, and so on. Therefore, some safety matters should be paid attention to in the use, handling and storage of gas.

After purchasing the gas cylinder, the user should check the paint color, inspection date, appearance, various labels and safety devices of the gas cylinder to confirm that the gas is correct and the safety condition of the gas cylinder is good before use. Gas cylinders should be lightly loaded and unloaded during transportation and loading and unloading, and throwing, sliding, rolling and violent collision are strictly prohibited. Before use, the qualified and matched pressure reducing valve should be connected to the cylinder valve door as required, and the connecting hose should be cleaned. The pressure reducing valves used for cylinders of different gases are not the same.

Gas cylinders should be stored upright, and measures should be taken to prevent tipping. When welding, appropriate protective measures should be taken for gas and electricity. Do not use damaged equipment such as hoses, cables and welding torches.

Inert gases (such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide, etc.) should not be used in an enclosed space for experimental analysis, welding, low temperature refrigeration, blowing, etc. In the use of the occasion that may cause backflow, the use of equipment must be equipped with devices to prevent backflow, check valves, check valves, flame arresters, etc. All users using acetylene cylinders must install a check valve and flame arrester at the outlet of the pressure reducer to prevent backflow and tempering, and install a check valve at the outlet of the oxygen cylinder pressure reducer to prevent acetylene gas backflow. Before using acetylene, all pressure reducing valves, welding guns, hoses and acetylene bottles should be tested with soapy water to prevent acetylene accumulation in the air. The distance between the acetylene bottle placing point and the open flame shall not be less than 10m (when working at height, it should be parallel to the vertical ground).
