Application

Ethane is mainly used for cracking to make ethylene and as a refrigerant in freezing facilities. Used as standard gas and preparation of special standard mixture it is colorless, flammable liquefied gas. Liquefied bottled gas at its vapor pressure (37.02 kgf/ cm2@21.1 °C). Mainly used as etching gas standard gas, calibration gas. Metallurgical industry heat treatment, preparation of ethylene, gas ethylene, gas ethane, acetaldehyde, ethanol, ethylene oxide, etc., fuel, refrigerant. Ethane is used as a refrigerant in cryogenic refrigeration systems, also known as R170, Freon 170. In small amounts of glue, in scientific studies, liquid ethane is used to vitrize water-rich samples for electron microscopy, thin films of water that are quickly immersed in liquid ethane at -150° C or cooler, too quickly freezing for aqueous condensation. This jet stream freezes without perturbing the structure of the soft object presented in the liquid state, as the formation of ice crystals may do.

Notes

Safety helmets must be worn when ethane is transported in high pressure seamless cylinders. Cylinders are generally laid flat, and the mouth of the bottle should be in the same direction, not crossed: the height shall not exceed the vehicle's guardboard, and the triangular wooden pad is clamped to prevent rolling. During transportation, the transport vehicle shall be equipped with the corresponding variety and quantity of fire fighting equipment. The exhaust pipe of the vehicle carrying the article shall be equipped with fire retardant device, and the use of spark-prone mechanical equipment and tools shall be prohibited for loading and unloading. It is strictly prohibited to mix and transport with oxidants and halogen. In summer, it should be transported in the morning and evening to prevent sunlight exposure. Stay away from fire and heat sources during stopovers. Road transport should follow the prescribed route, do not stop in residential and densely populated areas. It is forbidden to slip away in railway transportation.
